Some identities aren’t found between the lines—they create new lines altogether.
In 2014, teenager and activist Kye Rowan designed the Nonbinary Pride Flag to complement the genderqueer flag and offer a distinct symbol for those who don’t identify exclusively as male or female. It was first flown at Pride that same year—and has since become an emblem of self-definition, fluidity, and limitless potential.
🎨 What the Colors Represent
Each stripe speaks to a unique relationship with gender:
- Yellow: existing outside the binary
- White: representing multiple genders
- Purple: a mix of male and female traits
- Black: for those who identify as agender
The flag isn’t about compromise—it’s about clarity. It honors gender as lived, not just labeled. It's not about fitting in—it's about making space.
🧵 The Flag as Archive
At Show Pride, we believe every story deserves its color. The Nonbinary Flag represents people who rewrite the rules, create new language, and live outside expectation with brilliance and truth.
You exist beautifully beyond the binary.
This necklace makes space for your story.
You are limitless. You are seen.
