🖤 Chosen Family, Chosen Truth: The Leather Pride Flag

For some, pride is polished. For others, it’s raw, real, and unapologetically bold.

In 1989, Tony DeBlase unveiled the Leather Pride Flag at the Mr. Leather contest in Chicago. It wasn’t designed to be mainstream—it was designed to be honest. With its stacked black, blue, and white stripes and a bright red heart, the flag became an instant symbol of unity and care across the leather, kink, and BDSM communities.

🎨 What the Design Represents

The colors aren’t random—they’re a blueprint for connection:

- Black: intensity, strength, and resilience

- Blue: loyalty, connection, and depth

- White: openness and honesty

- Red Heart: love, care, and authenticity

Every stripe evokes presence. Every color speaks to the courage it takes to build chosen family, nurture trust, and live without apology.

🧵 The Flag as Archive

At Show Pride, we know that leather is more than a fabric. It’s ritual, legacy, and relationship. The Leather Pride Flag isn’t just about visibility—it’s about vulnerability made powerful. A reminder that care and authenticity are part of pride, too.

This necklace honors the bold, the caring, and the unapologetically authentic.

Leather is not just a fabric—it’s chosen family, trust, and truth.

You are fearless. You are seen.
